Dick Cowan acquired a degree in Graphic Art (1977) before beginning his career in Newspaper layout and cartooning. Then worked for over 10 years as an illustrator and advertising director for fashion and dept store chains in Green Bay and Madison, Wisc. His detailed fashion and product illustration earned him several ADDY Awards.
Dick Cowan acquired a degree in Graphic Art (1977) before beginning his career in Newspaper layout and cartooning. Then worked for over 10 years as an illustrator and advertising director for fashion and dept store chains in Green Bay and Madison, Wisc. His detailed fashion and product illustration earned him several ADDY Awards.
In the 80s Dick began working as a freelance etching artist with Granite companies and developed his unique technique of hand etching. In 1988 DC Etchings Inc was established and has been supplying quality artwork to over 40 Monument Companies for more than 30 years.
Dick currently resides in Stoughton, WI with his wife, Sandy and his dog, Chester. He has three grown children; Dani, Riley and Kelly. When not at the drawing table or working on an etching, Dick is an avid outdoorsman and family man who enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his two granddaughters Autumn and Emma.

Kelly is Dick Cowan's youngest daughter. Growing up Kelly was always interested in her dad's business. When she wasn't at school or playing sports, she enjoyed going on business trips and drawing with her dad. After high school Kelly studied fine art at UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse before withdrawing from school to work with her da

After high school Kelly studied fine art at UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse before withdrawing from school to work with her dad full time.
Currently Kelly is living in Stoughton, WI with her husband, Beau, their dog Sage, their cats, snake, and turtles. Other than working, she likes to paint, travel and spend her free time as a freelance photographer.
